DAC Code of Ethical Business Conduct
Dispensing Appliance Contractors (DACs) are an integral part of the Health Service across the UK providing Part IX Drug Tariff products, stoma, continence, laryngectomy appliances and wound care dressings, and services to approximately 400,000 patients with long-term conditions.
To demonstrate our commitment to promoting industry-wide best practice and putting patients at the heart of our interactions, the UTA, BHTA and the Specialist Independent Appliance Contractors Association (SIACA) have developed a Code of Practice. This code is not intended to replace national regulations, laws, or current Codes of Practice, but rather aims to strengthen them and encourage an ethical approach to appliance dispensing.
The Code can be accessed here.
